Top three from the 85cc World Championship come to Dutch MX Season Opener Lierop

In just over two months, the Dutch motocross season will start during the Dutch MX Season Opener at the circuit of Lierop (March 3). The sand circuit of the Herselse bossen will then be the setting for the first big race of the season on Dutch soil.

There is a lot of interest from the riders to race in Lierop. We can already announce that the top three of the 85cc world championship will start in Lierop. World champion Dani Heitink, Jarne Bervoets and Dean Gregoire have made the switch to the 125cc class this winter and will have their first showdown in Lierop.

Heitink took the world title, Dutch Masters title and the ADAC 85cc title in 2023. Partly because of these achievements, he has signed a contract with the MJC Yamaha team, which is the official factory Yamaha team in the 125cc class. Jarne Bervoets is also in this team and is Heitink's teammate. Bervoets was very strong in Lierop last year and won both motos of the 85cc class! Dean Gregoire already showed his speed last year and managed to finish third in the world championship. In addition, he finished in third place in the ADAC 85 Cup. Gregoire will remain loyal to KTM in 2024 and will be part of the Austrian brand's youth program. In addition, he is part of the KNMV talent plan and is currently preparing well for the season!

In addition to these youth talents, a number of big names have already signed up for the event, more about this soon! For more information about the Dutch MX Season Opener on March 3 in Lierop, please visit www.maclierop.nl
