Gyan Doensen takes championship lead after strong performance at British Championship Hawkstone Park

Gyan Doensen of the Gabriel SS24 KTM Factory Juniors team had an excellent day during the first round of the British Championship at the legendary Hawkstone Park circuit. Doensen enjoyed a consistent race day and, thanks to strong results in both motos, managed to secure the red plate as the championship leader.

The day already started well for Doensen during time practice, where he set the second fastest time, immediately showing strong pace and feeling comfortable on the bike.
In the first moto, the Dutch rider had an average start but quickly worked his way forward through the field. Despite difficult conditions due to the rain and suffering from significant arm pump, partly caused by wet gloves, Doensen kept riding strongly. After about twenty minutes he even had to remove his goggles because of poor visibility, but despite this setback he managed to finish in a solid fourth place.

The start of the second moto was much better. Doensen quickly moved into the lead and from that moment controlled the race on the wet and tricky track. With a convincing victory he not only secured the overall win of the day, but also claimed the red plate in the championship standings.

With this strong performance, Doensen now travels with confidence to the next race, the opening round of the EMX250 Championship in Spain, where he aims to continue his strong form.
