Strong weekend for Van Venrooy KTM in Andalucía with top result for Guadagnini |
|
The Van Venrooy KTM Team can look back on a positive weekend at the MXGP of Andalucía in Spain, where the team was represented in three classes. Mattia Guadagnini, in particular, impressed in the MXGP class with a 12th overall finish.

In the premier class, Guadagnini showed clear progress compared to the season opener in Argentina. His ninth-place finish in the first moto laid the foundation for his strong overall result.
The Italian rider found a good rhythm throughout the weekend and showed that he is becoming increasingly comfortable on the bike. On Saturday, he already delivered a strong performance with a good start and spent a significant part of the race inside the top five, eventually finishing seventh in the qualifying race.
Guadagnini continued his strong form on Sunday. In the first moto, he rode consistently inside the top ten and stayed in touch with the leading group. In the second moto, fatigue began to play a role, resulting in a 15th-place finish.
"Overall, it was a good weekend," said Guadagnini. "I can clearly see progress compared to Argentina and my feeling on the bike is getting better and better. The speed is there, but physically I still need to improve to maintain this level throughout the entire weekend. The goal is to be consistently inside the top ten, and that’s what we are working towards."
In the MX2 class, Noel Zanocz delivered a solid weekend, which resulted in a 15th overall finish. The Hungarian started strongly with the 12th-fastest time in time practice and a 13th-place finish in the qualifying race. In the first moto, he fought his way back from 19th to an impressive 15th place. In the second moto, he got off to a better start and spent much of the race at the front of the midfield, ultimately finishing 14th.

For Aron Katona in the EMX250 class, it was a challenging weekend. The Hungarian finished 25th overall but gained valuable experience. "It was a weekend full of challenges and the result was not what I had hoped for," said Katona. "However, I learned a lot and now know where I need to improve. I will keep working hard to make those steps."
With positive developments and clear progress across all classes, the Van Venrooy KTM Team now turns its focus to the next round of the World Championship. The MXGP of Switzerland in Frauenfeld is scheduled for next weekend, where important points will once again be up for grabs on the hardpack circuit.
