2021 EICMA INTERNATIONAL MOTOCROSS ITALY SERIES - ALGHERO REPORT TIME#2

Second race in Sardinia for the 2021 “EICMA - Internazionali d’Italia”, in a wonderful location, thanks above all to the support of the local authorities, of the Municipality of Alghero – “Città del Corallo”, in the person of the Mayor Mario Conoci, and of the local Moto Club "Il Lazzaretto".
A very technical track welcomed all the riders who gave exciting and very strong races, and nothing was granted until the checkered flag.

Thanks to the organization, all the races were broadcast live on TV with excellent feedback, with comments in both Italian and English, which gave the opportunity to many fans to see these races of a very uncertain season for the issues of the pandemic, but that have not stopped this event which has become an international point of reference.

SUPERCAMPIONE - What a race!
Uncertain until the checkered flag, with a beautiful fight between the winner Thomas Olsen (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing) and Romain Febvre (Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team), who until the end fought for the victory.
The Kawasaki Frenchman won the “Hole Shot – EICMA” and the “Best Lap - 24MX”, but crashed midway through the race allowing his opponents to get closer and Holsen was able to recover after a not perfect start.
Third on the podium Glenn Coldenhoff (Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Team), who did a good race and fourth Jeremy Van Horebeek (SDM Corse Beta MX), who completed a good heat with the Italian bike.

Big crash at the start with some riders, where Nicholas Lapucci (Fantic Factory Team Maddii) and Jago Geerts (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2) were involved, who had to separate the bikes before restarting and recovering some positions 

MX1 - Pole Position Newfren for Ivo Monticelli (Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team) who was unable to take advantage of the first position at the gate, but to sprint in front of everyone was Glenn Coldenhoff (Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Team) who won the Hole Shot - EICMA, recorded the best lap with the Best Lap - 24MX and stretched over all his opponents, winning.

Second Thomas Olsen (Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing) and third Ben Watson (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MXGP) who recovered after a bad start. 

MX2 - Nicholas Lapucci (Fantic Factory Team Maddii) wins the “Newfren - Pole Position” and the “Best lap - 24MX”, but Federico Tuani (Fantic Factory Team Maddii) who sprints very fast and wins the “Hole Shot – EICMA”.
Lapucci took the lead and stretched over his opponents up to the checkered flag.
Behind the leader, concluded Andrea Bonacorsi (Hutten Metaal Yamaha) who gave a wonderful fight with Tim Edberg (Ghidinelli Racing Team) and Alberto Forato (SM Action Yuasa Battery Racing Team), that become on a good position after a not so beautiful start.

Italian Mattia Guadagnini (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) and Belgian Jago Geerts (Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2) were involved in a crash at the start and Geerts restarted at the last position and finishing sixth, while Guadagnini crossed the finish line fifth.

125 - Really hard category.
“Pole Position-Newfren” for Hakon Osterhagen (Fantic Factory Team Maddii), who made perfect races, with a second and a first place, as well as having also conquered the “Hole Shot-EICMA” in race one and the “Best Lap - 24MX”.
In the first heat Osterhagen fought with Valerio Lata (MRT Racing Team KTM); the Italian KTM rider won race 1 passing his opponent a few laps from the end, but in race 2 while he was in the lead (after also winning the “Best Lap - 24MX”) he crashed, very sorry in the pit lane he declared “I threw everything away”.
Second place on the podium of the day Andrea Rossi (Mxone - KTM) who was able to take second place in race 2, knowing how to find the right lines on a very difficult track.

Third step of the podium for Nicola Salvini (La Rocca - Husqvarna), thanks the result in race 2, where he started very strong with the leaders, even if Luca Ruffini (Berbenno - KTM) won the “Hole Shot - EICMA” and arrived in the third position in race 1.

After this second race in Sardinia the motocross circus returns to the continent.
Now we still have the last round of the “EICMA - Internazionali d’Italia” on March 14 in Mantova, where all the top riders of the international circus will be at the start.
