Podium Finish For Lars Van Berkel At Groesbeek

The first race was problematic at the start for both riders. Boyd had an early crash, and had to restart from the rear of the pack. Lars also crashed, which cost him significant time. He charged forward, but was a bit rusty, which kept him down to seventh. Van de Voorn in turn managed to work his way to 17th.

Van Berkel fought his way forward from eighth in the second race. He managed to improve to second, which ensured third overall for the day. "I struggled at the beginning of the day to get into a rhythm, but we will work on this," he said. "This track was of course completely different to the kind of terrain we had been training on for the last few weeks for Le Touquet. Once I've adapted back, it will go better," he concluded.

Boyd had no crashes in the second race, but did not get an optimal start. He elected to not take any risks this early in the season, and rode his own race to finish 19th.

The teammates are in full preparation for the start of the Open Dutch Championship series, which will kick off in Oss on 1 March.
