A few weeks after organizing the MXGP of France, the Moto Club of Lacapelle Marival is back working! On February 6th, the track will receive once more their traditional Masters of Motocross.

2021 was not a normal year for the Moto Club, as well as for many associations who had to deal with the sanitary situation. After being forced to postpone and finally to cancel the 2021 Masters, they had the opportunity to organize the French MXGP and it will remain for a long time as a great memory for the fans, the members of the club and the city habitants. “We knew that it would be tough, that we would have a lot of work, but we did it and we are proud even if we know that everything was not perfect,” analysis president Vincent Ayroles. Former motocross rider himself Vincent is a competitor, and thanks to a strong team of volunteers this GP was succesful with a strong attendance and a great atmosphere. “It was a huge challenge, but if we refused it maybe we’ll never have another opportunity,” he adds.

Back to the Masters
Only six weeks after the GP, the club had to make a decision concerning the future. And as soon as the 2022 MXGP calendar has been produced, with the first round on February 20th they decide to organise their traditional Masters of Motocross – it will be the 11th edition – two weeks’ prior the first GP, as usual. “We had the choice between February 6th and 13th, but being just one week before the first GP was a problem for some teams. We ask several teams and also some top riders what they would prefer, and most of them say that 6th would be better so we have decided to organize on February 6th. Of course we never know how will be the weather at this period, but nobody can predict anything with the weather, including in March or April,” says president Ayroles.

Who will succeed to Jeffrey Herlings and Tom Vialle, both winners of the 2020 Masters and the 2021 MXGP of France? We’ll come back to you later in January with some names of riders signed for the 2022 Masters!
